RCL joins British Assistive Technology Association to champion inclusive education

We are proud to announce that Regent College London (RCL) has become a member of the British Assistive Technology Association (BATA), marking a significant step in our ongoing commitment to inclusive education. This affiliation aligns RCL with a respected national network dedicated to advancing assistive technology.

By joining BATA, RCL gains access to sector-leading resources, expert-led events and active special interest groups. These opportunities will further empower us to support our students with disabilities and neurodiversities through enhanced knowledge, collaboration and advocacy.

Our membership also enhances our ability to contribute to sector-wide best practices, engage with thought leaders and advocate for equitable access to both education and technology.

BATA is a not-for-profit membership organisation with over 90 members from across the UK. It exists to ensure that all voices advocating for assistive technology, ranging from individuals with disabilities to industry professionals, are heard and valued.

This new initiative will complement RCL’s existing wraparound student support services, which include tailored, confidential disability support and regular workshops on topics such as learning difficulties, mental health and wellbeing.

Chris Baldwin, Head of Digital Learning at RCL, said:

“Joining BATA is an exciting step for RCL as we continue to strengthen our inclusive approach to education. Collaborating with a national network of innovators and advocates will enable us to stay ahead in delivering meaningful support to our students. I’m particularly looking forward to learning from others in the sector and sharing best practice that makes a real difference.”

We are excited to join BATA’s mission to unite voices for progress in assistive technology in the UK. Together, we look forward to helping ensure that every child and adult with a disability has access to the assistive technology they need to thrive.
